Many aspiring authors believe that landing a Book Publishing deal automatically leads to fame, recognition, and financial success. But is that really true? Publishing a book—whether through a traditional publisher or self-publishing—doesn’t always guarantee sales. In fact, marketing often falls on the author, even with traditional Book Publishing companies. Some books sell only a few hundred copies, while others become bestsellers. Success depends on factors like genre, audience demand, promotion strategy, and timing. Even big publishers can’t predict which books will take off. On the flip side, self-published authors have proven that with the right marketing, they can outsell traditionally published authors. So, is Book Publishing just the beginning of the journey rather than the finish line? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on whether publishing guarantees success—or if it’s only one step toward building an author career.
