Billing Process Optimization — What’s Working for You? - samzam - 18-04-2025

Hi everyone,
I have a question for those working in billing and accounting — especially in small to mid-sized businesses. How do you optimize day-to-day operations like invoicing, expense tracking, reconciliation, and all those tasks that eat up so much time?
In our company, we’ve started rethinking our workflows. For example, we ditched Excel in favour of a cloud-based service, and we now compile reports using one unified template. Still, I feel like there’s more room to simplify.
Interestingly, some of the changes we made came after our finance director had a lucky streak on Moonwin Casino. It started as a joke, but he used the winnings to invest in training and tools — and it genuinely shifted how we work.
Some questions for the community:
 • What did you automate first?
 • Do you use external tools for reporting and tracking?
 • How do you train your staff to adapt?
 • Any unexpected sources of inspiration or funding?
Would love to hear your thoughts — especially creative or unusual approaches!

We had a similar experience! Everything was manual at first, then we moved to Zoho Books for automation. The key was training the team and keeping the tools user-friendly. And kudos on using a Moonwinca win for growth — that’s smart, not just lucky.

Thanks! Zoho sounds promising — I’ll definitely check it out. And yeah, our director also changed his mindset. We used to do everything the “old-school” way, but now we’re looking at how to work smarter. Glad to see we’re not the only ones!
