I’ve been having a bit of a nightmare sourcing BMW auto spares here in the UK. I own a 3-series, and whenever something needs replacing, I feel like my wallet takes a beating. Local garages in London usually want to charge top rates, and sometimes they even try to push me towards aftermarket parts that don’t always fit properly.
I started looking into breakers’ yards, and I did come across a few in Birmingham and Manchester that stock quite a bit of BMW gear. The problem is, you never really know the history of the part. Has it been tested? Is it safe? I’d rather pay a fair price for something that’s guaranteed to work, even if it’s used.
Online seems like the way forward, but delivery times and hidden fees make me hesitate. Has anyone here ordered from a UK-based supplier that ships quickly and offers reliable service?
Also, do you find it better to stock up on small items like filters, switches, or lights in advance, or do you just wait until something goes wrong?
